Founder & Full-Stack Engineer, Khanta

I'm Folahan, a full-stack engineer, and I built Khanta because I was tired of watching shop and warehouse owners lose money to the very people they trusted to run their businesses with little or no way to know what actually happened.

Systems thinking isn't new to me. I've always been the engineer who looks past the interface and asks, "What's actually happening underneath?" Khanta applies that same rigor to a problem that costs real businesses real money. Shop and warehouse staff aren't sitting behind computers, they're on the floor, phone in hand, serving customers, weighing products, moving stock. So the product decisions follow from that, not from whatever's easiest to build.

Khanta opens in your browser, so there is nothing to download. Many phones do not have spare storage, and an app store page might not load on a shaky connection. A link opens instantly; add it to the home screen once and it behaves exactly like a native app from then on. Same product, none of the friction that would have kept it uninstalled.

Sign-in works the same way: a phone number, not an email and password. An email and password is a solved problem for people who already use both daily, most of the shop owners I'm building for don't, but they all have a phone number, because that's what they already give out for WhatsApp, mobile money, their own customers.

I built Khanta to live where the work already happens: WhatsApp. Log a sale with a voice note. Close a shift and let Khanta reconcile the numbers automatically. Detect anomalies using statistical methods inspired by the same principles used to identify defects in production lines.

No guessing. No "she said she counted it right." Just a clearer, more verifiable picture of what happened.

Khanta works in English and Nigerian Pidgin, because if the person doing the work can't comfortably use your tool, it wasn't really built for them. It was built for a pitch deck.

I didn't come through a traditional computer science degree. I came through an engineering background and a refusal to stop at "it works."

Today, I build with NestJS and TypeScript, while learning C++. For me, understanding what sits beneath the abstraction isn't an academic requirement. It's part of the discipline of building software I can actually stand behind.

That's the kind of engineer I am. And that's the kind of product I'm building with Khanta.

Why "Khanta"?

It's a play on "counter": the shop counter, and counting what's on it. One word that says roughly what the app does.
